Longlined Dexter this chilly misty morning for a couple of hours using my bottom finder to find subtle depth changes and wound up with a decent catch. Threw a ton of dinks back. Would have stayed out but I had 8 rods out and a mudfish wreaked havoc and tangled up everything so I took that as a sign to go home.

Trolling 1/16 roadrunners with crappie max grubs.

    Tight lines,

    Nice catch.

Hey Mud, just curious what kind of speed you troll at? Isnt Dexter around 8ft average? I have been running between 1- 1.25 mph with 6lb mono pulling 1/16th oz curly tails and doing ok, just wondering if there is a sweet spot I'm missing. Also thanks for all your post.

I vary between .9-1.2 and let the fish tell me what they like that day. When wind conditions permit I’ll just drift.

Deepest section is 8’ water is fairly low right now so I’m trolling 6’-7’ and I use mostly 1/16 but always put (2) 1/32 out and switch to them if that’s what they like that day. Don’t be afraid to put some light jigs out I get plenty of bites real close to the surface.
