    Default Christmas Eve short trip

Yes I did , I went fishing on Christmas Eve .
The weather was the nicest it’s been in over a week .
When I headed home the outside temp on the dash said it was 60 . And light winds .
Got in a little over an hour and a half of tossing and twitching a 4.6mm Tungsten bead jighead and mini trout magnet.
Caught four bluegills, a shellcracker, and a couple of small bass . Actually had another couple of small bass flop off on me trying to lift them . I should have slid them up the bank .
The combo today fished awesome, a 6’6” St Croix Avid light , paired with a Shimano Soare 500bb spg and Blue Daiwa J Braid Grand and 4# Floroclear leader .
I truly enjoyed fishing this combo today . Up to sixty foot casts and I felt every light hit .
    I don’t think I missed a fish ..
The 6’6” light action St Croix rods fish like an UL . Plenty of bend . I’ve found that with most St Croix models , when you get over 6’ the UL rods are a little too noodlely for me .
Below 6’6” , the light actions get a little stiff .

Anyways, a fun way to get out of the house and get a little rod time .

I hope all of you have a Merry Christmas and those of you who are traveling, safe travels !

I wanted to get out today but between work and evening service and errands it just wasn’t meant to be. Maybe tomorrow morning. Good looking outfit and some good fish, a win win! Merry Christmas to you and the family.
