Thanks for post, I've not had much luck on Elk either

I fished on Wednesday from 9 till 3 at elk river mills. I could not get the crappie to cooperate but the drum were more than willing. The water was very low and I had to idle all the way back to sugar creek. Ended up with 4 keeper crappie and 5-6 shorts. I caught 4 big drum playing around with livescope. I also had a small mouth and a spotted bass. All released for another day. I saw 2 eagles on a log on the way back to sugar creek. The water temp was 48 at the bridge and 46 at sugar creek. Nice day on the water

Next time you come this way let me know. That is my home ramp. Don't forget to try the cheeseburger combo on your way out. I live a 1/4 mile from the ramp

Sorry for the late response. I use to fish Anderson creek all the time for crappie and catch good ones. I have not fished it much in the last few years. Shoemaker branch use to be good for bass and crappie but I think it has silted in in the back part. 12 or 13 years ago we could go down in the evening and catch really good bass in the back or the slough. Have not caught much in the last few years in there. Hope to do more fishing in Elk this coming year.
