Default More Trout on the Italian Special

Yesterday the wind was at a steady 15 MPH with gust up to 24 MPH...temp was 42 with a feel like of low 30's. I long ago quit fishing in conditions like those. But I was so excited to feel some more hits with the Presso AGS I just had to go. Going to be colder today but I am going back again. Fishing this rod is just that exciting. Every time I hook up I am amazed at how a rod that is as rigid as this goes into such a full curve. You sure don't miss any taps with this rod. It took me about 6 minutes to figure out the depth the trout were at then it was game on. Most of the 40 plus fish I caught were 13-15 inches. Used a Trout Magnet on a 2 gram jig head but switched to a Forest 2.8 gram MIU Abalone colored spoon. Love fishing this rod on a tight line retrieve....feels like lightning going up your arm when a fish hits. Had a Daiwa Ballistic FW 1000 spooled with Varivas 3# test Twitch Master line. My 61 Italian Special will be here Monday. Will get it rigged up and go over and throw some more spoons and try it out with some Major Craft Eden trout cranks. Life is good and getting better!

Awesome, glad you got out . And enjoying your new rod .
That’s the feeling I get when fishing braided line . With its faults, it’s fun to fish with .

Glad you got out and shared the trip with us. Some nice looking fish. It’s been kinda cool today for us and dropped quick again once the sun went down. My new Presso is nothing like yours but I had to go play too, and had a good trip too. Glad it’s working well or you.
