Default Finally wet a line after many months

I think the devil has been conspiring against me to keep me from fishing! This year has been almost nonexistent in that department. Between a forced remodel at work from a client putting her car in my clinic waiting room to bouts with kidney stones that wound up with having surgery, it seems like it has been something non stop preventing me from going. Well me and my FIL went this past weekend. Was very tough to find any willing participants but we did manage to bring home 6, enough for him and the MIL to have a couple of meals. It’s easy to forget just what a trip down the river with an occasional tug on the line will do for a stressed soul. Call it hitting the rest button, getting out and enjoying Gods creations.
I apologize but did not get any pictures of the keepers, they were not big just good eating size. I did get a couple pics of twins, carbon copies of each other. Most of the time I was just taking in the scenery.

God’s creation always does the trick. For as long as I can remember once that line hits the water doesn’t matter if they are biting as fast as it hits the water or the line never moves. The only way I can explain it, the entire world stops moving around me.
I just wish I could focus on everything else like I can when fishing.
Glad to hear you’re back on the water and aggravating those elusive crappie.

Good share! A few small ones is better than nothing at all, and going is still better than not going at all--you can't catch any if you don't go.
If I'm not at work or taking kids to their activities, you might find me on "The Rez" fishing. If not there, I could be in the garage working on my boat.

Yes Sir, that was the plan, try and get a mess of squirrels along the way but I let the only one I saw carry on about his day. Wind was whipping the tree tops pretty good, kept them hidden or on the ground out in the swamp.

Great photos and you’re right that there is nothing like time outdoors to help recharge the soul. The fish can sometimes be just the bonus.

Squirrel hunting was my granddad's favorite. I remember as a kid he would kill the ones I missed. He got a kick out of that.

Great post! I've said many times over the years, no where I feel the presence of God more than when I see the sun rise among the cypress trees in the Atchafalaya Basin.
