    Default Green river holmesbend question

Anyone know if core will be putting a walkway to tie your boat up when unloading. Not a big fan of running nose on concrete ramp and I do have keel shield on boat but will eventually wears kill shield out. Just curious. This is a bad deal all the time in winter drawdown.

I would think if they were going to, they'd have already done so. And it's not just in Winter that it's a hassle to use the concrete pier for getting in/out of your boat, being that it can be a 2ft or more drop to negotiate getting in or getting out of the boat .... especially for us "older" ones.

A floating walkway would be a nice addition, but would also require someone to be there to adjust it during water level changes. I'm not sure if the COE/Marina partnership would go that far.

No, I block the door so it don't close back. Today the guy that was with opened it up from the other side.

OKAY ... but doesn't that cause an alarm to go off after a certain amount of time ?? (if it doesn't, I see little reason for even having the gate there in the first place)

IMHO ... what they really need to do is move the gate to the end of the three slips before you get to the houseboat slips.

I have wondered this my self. I understand the gate for the people who have houseboats but moving gate would solve this problem for loading in and out no matter what lake level is. I know marina is shut down for the winter but would be nice if someone could ask about this when owners return in spring. I am not a young pup anymore or are the people I fish with. I would be willing to donate to the cost of moving gate to be able to get in and out of the boat safely . Not trying to stir anything up but this would be a simple fix for all people coming to holmesbend to enjoy a day on the lake

The new floating courtesy dock at Site Green river holmesbend question solved the concrete courtesy dock issue at that ramp and it is very nice. There isn’t enough clearance to put a floating dock in the same place at Holmes Bend with the main dock in its current configuration. The CoE could build one out on the beach side of the ramp but we’d have a big problem with swimmers around the boat dock in that spot.

The concrete pad is Corp property. The gate is the marina property. As of Jan 1 25 the pad courtesy dock will become the marina property. Don't know what is the plan after the new year
