Default I Don't Understand Folks Sometimes

I have had my project boat in a storage place since shortly after getting it. Can't have it at the house as I currently am in a mobile home park that says absolutely no. Well, I keep it tapped pretty tight, trying to keep the weather out.
Well, some kind-hearted south end of a north bound mule decided to cut the rope holding the tarp down right before we got some wind and rain. The rope is paracord and will break if frayed, but not clean straight across through the outer nylon case and the inner cords nice and clean.
I don't have nothing in the boat because I just don't trust most folks. Stick fingers pieces of garbage trying to take my stuff to get a drug fix no doubt...sure glad I plan a cap off resto on it cause it sure got a soaking in the storm we had.
It won't be there no longer than absolutely necessary that's for sure. If the Navy will get off their keystrokes and get me what they owe me It will be gone from there the next day or two after.
Even though it's months away, I keep looking for houses. Once again found a nice place with 1-1/2 acres, a separated garage, a two car car port, and a reasonable price. Right outside the city limits, of a small country town of 410 folks. Just hope it's still available when The Navy coughs up the funds for the three claims I have for Camp Legune...Name: 20241216_123021.jpg

Sorry to hear that Eric. Sadly it’s situations like this that make it hard to trust people now.

That's sad, the world is changing for sure and not always for the better. I live in a nice neighborhood but that doesn't mean much anymore. I forgot to lock my truck earlier this summer and when I went out I found it ransacked but none of my fishing gear was even touched and there was a lot of it under the back seat. I'm sure they were looking for a gun. Only thing missing was a hand full of change. Glad the thief wasn't a fisherman. Could have made a haul.

I lived in a mobile home park when I was stationed in Texas during the Vietnam War. Course back then the only thing I could afford with one kid at home was a Jon boat; and that didn't take up space like your rig. (GI pay in the early 70's was pitiful even for NCOs. Good thing we had the BX - or in your case the NEX.)

I had good neighbors watching the place, though things were much different back then with nothing to worry about like in your case.

This place is now owned by some nongourmet in GA, who owns mobile home park all over the US. These are either the 5th or 6th owners sine I moved up here in 2018. Every set of new owners swore things were going to get better. Well, honestly, they are the worst they have ever been. And just yesterday, received the updated for 2025, the most recent, up to date rules. This is worse than living with an HOA. It wouldn't be so bad IF the rules were applied equally. And oh yea, don't report anyone else in the park, and for sure don't complain about anyone or any thing in the park. I know of a couple of folks who did and were made to leave,,, Come on Navy, Get the lead out.
