Hey, buddy ... I've used the Mr. Crappie (Betts) rattle pear float on a few occasions, but did not see any great productive effects.![]()
I've used rattles (plastic & glass) in worms/craws when fishing for Bass ... for decades ... with measurable success vs those baits w/o rattles.
I thought about using rattles in some of the larger plastic bodies I use for Crappie, but the rattles I have are just too big to use in anything <3" or that have a slim body profile. The other thought I had was that the rattles wouldn't really produce any sound unless the bait was "jiggled" during the retrieve, or unless the bait was bounced thru the limbs of a brushpile.
If ya'll start showing more productive results with rattles, I may have to look into trying some of these aforementioned "rattle jigheads" or "rattle beads".![]()
