    Default 11/25 trip

Went out for a few hours after work tonight, got there about dusk and got set up in one of my favorite spots. The surface water temp is in the mid 40’s and the lake must be in the process of turning over. A lot less fish on the screen and most of them near the bottom rather than in the top 15’ like a week or two ago. Managed 16 nice crappie, a bass and a couple rainbows. I may go out again tomorrow night but I’m getting close to the end of my open water fishing for 2024, by the time I reeled up tonight the boat deck was pretty icy.

Sounds like a good trip! I think I'm done for the season unless we get a surprise warm day when I'm not working. Glad to see that you're noticing the icy deck and being careful.
Anybody else out on your water when you were fishing?
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.

There was a kayak out there when I got there but he was leaving, I also go past another lake on my way and I saw one guy in a fishing kayak out on that lake. There are a few hardy souls! I’m about ready to put my boat away and to wait for some ice.

That sounds like a good trip. Especially with the cold water temps. Good job. 9 inches of snow here this morning. Waiting for ice now.
