The shoal bass .
HaHa: 0
I spent an hour and a half fishing Line Creek above Lake McIntosh. I fished below it the other day .
Today I took a Major Craft Finetail Glass five piece Trekking rod , setup with four sections as a 4’6” rod . It was paired with a Shimano Soare bb 500sspg and Island Blue Daiwa J-Braid and 4# Floroclear leader .
I had started at Lake Kedron , but left after catching only a small redbreast and a small gill . A couple of county workers were rebuild the section of dock that’s usually the most productive. And the lake was full of leaves .
At the creek I caught twelve redbreast of various sizes , with the larger ones only five or six inches . Creek fish .
I also caught four shoal bass from tiny to decent size for a creek . Probably ten inches .
With all of the rocks and snags I was glad I had a 4# leader .
The bass came from the smallest of pockets . Tiny eddies below rocks .
I love this kind of fishing . Makes you read the water to figure out your presentation.
The bass pics I’ll post pictures below in a separate post.
Only problem I had was kids that came stomping up the creek as I was fishing down .
The MC rod was great for the mostly short casts needed . Sometimes I just flipped the jig or bow and arrow shot it through some spots .
The jig was a size 10 Lil Nasty sickle hook with sparkle black woolybooger yarn and black rabbit fur tail . A 4mm tungsten bead .
Can’t wait to get back after them .

For me I feel it was an absolute blast !
Good exercise for this old man too .
Set my watch for hiking on the way out . Mileage .61 miles with 196 feet of elevation change .
So about a mile and a quarter mile hike , in and out .
Wish I could find some more accessible creeks to fish .

Gillchaser, might have to move to your neck of the woods to enjoy these beautiful ponds and lakes you've been posting...lol.

Great scenery and beautiful fish and not a piece of trash in sight. The patterns on the rocks are cool, look like mini crop circles. Definitely worth the walk and exercise certainly doesn't hurt.
