    Default Thinking of repurposing some rods .


    Thinking of converting a couple of my fiberglass flyrods over to a spinning rod .
    Some are four piece and I would only use the top three sections to make either a 4’8” or a 5’ 2” rod depending on whether I use a 6’6” or a 7’ flyrod .
    These are 3wt flyrods and the top sections have a nice bend to them .

    Will need to strip the guides off and add a handle and grip with new spinning guides .
    Probably be a winter project .

    I did something like that years ago except with a baitcaster I got for a few pennies. I cut off the pistol grip trigger thingy and added a last bigger guide. Then i managed to break the rod months later...lol.

    I have a cheap bamboo fly rod that I made a ferrule for so I could use the upper 2 sections. Certainly fun on small bream
    The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
