I put in at Sharps Ford and fished the bridge back down to the Tennessee River finding baitfish schools and willing fish all down the creek. I kept 9 the size I like (9 to 10 inches) and returned 46 that were larger. No slabs, but lots of 11 to 12 inches fish. Shorts were everywhere along will gills, stripe and a few bass early. All Crappie came off single pole on laydowns with fish 4 to 6 feet deep. I'm continuing to use the 1/30oz jig head and the WormZ in Chartreuse. Visibility is a foot to 18 inches.

I found a five-foot Gator sunning today and later a four foot. I'm beginning to think they're my good luck charm.
I worked Limestone to death and had convinced myself today was a day they just didn't want to bite.

Everything I cleaned from yesterday was stuffed with 1" shad, maybe they were full?

There was a local yesterday fishing minnows and it was obvious it wasn't his first rodeo. He said he's been going a few hours a couple times a week and taking home a half limit every trip. We were discussing the huge numbers of four-to-six-inch Crappie everywhere. Looks like Cataco and Indian will be full of ten-inch fish by mid to late next year. I'm glad I was wrong about the spawn this past spring. We all might have been catching fish with eggs that didn't spawn, but plenty made it happen somewhere!

Not worth the Game Wardens taking you truck, boat, gun and hunting and fishing privileges.

Besides, they really are my good luck charm (that might be because it thins out the anglers willing to fish around them) LOL!

Good job Ditch, thanks for the report! Good to know I'm not the only one catching smalls. It's fun either way and the kiddos love it. Stay on em'

I'm not afraid of fishing around them but I do a lot of fishing in Florida at Lake Talquin and it is full of Wally Gators,I have even fished across the top of their backs with my long poles when they would surface right next to the boat
