Daiwa J Braid x8
Has anyone tried the J-Braid?
I'm think of trying it for single pole jigging. I'm using an ultra-light rod and keep a very lite drag so I don't have any concerns on Crappie pulling out (paper mouths, LOL) but it might be a little more sensitive when they're biting lite when fishing deeper?

I bought some, 8 lb, a few months ago. I like it. It is thin, and slick. Seems to cast well, too.
I have 8lb leader, tied with the Crazy Alberto knot.
If your eyes have trouble with thin lines, mine do, I would consider a larger size. Size your leader according to lure size.
As to pulling hooks out...IMO..rod action, drag quality, and setting, and fishing skills..pull hooks, not braid.

Look into gliss braid I’ve used it for years crappie fishing and never had any issues

I really like the X8. I have it on several of my spinning reels and several of my baitcasters. I run the 8 lb and 10 lb and run it straight to my crappie jigs on my spinning reels. I use mostly the high vis yellow. I will add that sensitivity is the reason I switched to braid, the smaller diameter is nice too, along with less wind knots on spinning reels.

I tried it on my jig rod today. I think I'm sold. Wasn't sure how it would work on an underspin spincast reel rather than a spinning reel, but no issues. Sensitivity is amazing and enough line strength (8lb) to pull the jig hook straight when hung instead of breaking off.

That’s the two kickers for me also the sensitivity and strength. U will feel the bite before u see line move if u have the right rod set up.

Had bluegill 10 foot deep tickling the jig tail and it felt like a Crappie thump, makes me wonder how many I've been missing when they're biting light!

Yep once I changed to gliss or nanofil which I’m pretty sure they quit making it was night and day I always told people u could feel a fly fart with that line.

I remember my first trip with braid maybe 8 years ago. Fishing Cataco with slick 8 power pro 15/4. Had a pair of duck commander 10' and they are super sensitive to begin with. It was me and my wife and we could actually feel the minnows get nervous before the bite. Solid hookups all day long.
I havent tried it but there are several singing praises on the Varavas super trout on the general forum. It is billed as a sinking PE line. Which really appeals to me.
