    Default Omega Pro Z02 Question

When I left Cabelas today, an Omega Pro Z02 ended up following me out. I am looking at putting 4-6 lb. mono on it for panfishing. What rod do I use??? I would prefer a UL or Light at the heaviest. I am having trouble finding anything. I did see a Eagle Claw UL pistol grip rod at the store. It was all Yellow and fiberglass. Just seems to be whippy, so I don't know if that will effect casting distance. Looking to throw mostly 1/32, 1/16, and maybe 1/8 Oz.

    Any suggestions???

I have several of the ZO2's and ZO3's. I know it's a spincast, but most of mine are actually mounted on spinning rods. At one time spincast reels were all that I used, but spinning rods were more readily available. I have a bunch of the Shakesphere black micro graphite spinning rods in light action. They don't make them anymore, it's since changed to the grey colored Micro rod.

Wondering if this would work? Might be a bit to heavy on power for UL.
    Bass Pro Shops Crappie Max

    Another possibility?

The first eye on a casting reel is small compared the first eye on a spinning reel. Does it matter and does it affect your casting distance? Also, what length rod are you using for the Z02's?

With the small opening where the line comes out on a spincast reel, I don't think it will even touch the first guide of a spinning rod. I'm not saying that using a spincast reel on a spinning rod is preferable, just that it is possible. Theoretically a spinning and a casting rod would have the eye's mounted opposite of each other in regards to the spine of the blank. On a mass produced rod I don't know how much attention is even paid to how the spine runs. I would expect that to be taken into consideration on a higher quality rod.

I have them mounted on rods from walmart that are over 10 years old, that are mainly guest/ grandchildren rods.
