Thread: White/silver vein paint Part 2

Also painted some 1/32 with #8 sickles. First pic was made without white/silver vein paint.

Those are so pretty and so much going on I wouldn't add eyes. I think they would hide the pretty paint.

I like the first ones, reminds me of electric chicken.


Jim, have you ever done a tutorial on how you get the swirl/marble effects?

The one at the top is my version of electric chicken. I use four colors of paint for these. First I dipped into hot pink then dip into white silver vein before brush tapping silver crinkle and brush tap chartreuse last. Then I reheat head for a few seconds and take my bodkin and swirl paint around head while paint is hot. I paint all my jigs with a Bic lighter, been painting jigs for over 30 years. I want fish to see my jigs so I use multiple colors so fish have a better chance of seeing my jig no matter what color the water is.

Do you bake them afterwards?

Yes, I bake them at 350 for 15 minutes once temps reach 350 and I always start with a cold oven.
