Thread: Heck of a day ketchn good fish and being w great neighbors

Was supposed to go with Charlie on his boat to place where reports say big crappie were stacked. I was up at Lake visiting with friends when texted couldn't make it. Favorite spot had several guys in it abd one was a buddy so I sat and talked as they weren't ketchn many and I knew this was a better afternoon place anyway.

Went back to my cabin to do some chores and fix some snarls in my reels. After while noticed neighbors were home and since the wife had a recent medical scare wanted to pay my respects. She was doing well and while there church member brought big container of ham n beans, cornbread and fruit. They invited me to join them and had tomatoe juice and it was fantastic.

It was n o w 2pm time to go to that spot. Folks around there know about it and sure enough there 4 folks there already who I knew. I decided to go to a riprap place that has been highly productive. After being there half hour with just one short remembered guy that fishes this here at dawn not afternoon place.

Went back to favorite spot and sure enough 2 guys had their limits and were leaving with lot of 8.5 to 9.5 fish. Older couple remained had similar size fish close to limits. Had nice visit with them till they finished theirs. Then I caught o under do my thing.

I have found that if I shoot your jig under piece of structure and shade bigger ones are there. Don't do it with other folks around just the couple others who know how to do it. Buddy bill called and then came over but he knows this as well. I caught lot of 10 to 12 inch fish. Plus got bragging rights with my friends.

Then invited over to a neighbors house for dinner and he is incredible cook. I gave him my bucket of dozen real nice fish. Fair exchange. One heck of a day fishing, talking and eating meals with my great neighbors. L8fe is GOOD!
