Default HOW lucky are you is the question ?

Are you one of them ? lucky people ?
you know them types , they just seem to have luck that gravitates towards them all the time .....
is it do to their typical generosity towards others maybe ?
or do they make their own luck ?
or is just a roll of the dice thing ?
might just be yin and yen ...or karma ....or you reap what you sow .....
not exactly sure , but often times I run a bit lucky ....
stumbled down a REALLY steep bank yesterday at a location I rarely visit
it is a tough spot to hit for an older fella for sure , the bank is so very dicey and did I mention STEEP !
ankle deep loose dirt 3/4 a the way or more that abruptly stops about the time your speed level is on high going downhill
then it culminates in a bunch of BIG loose rocks about the last 10 yards to the water .
it appeared from the tracks and garbage left by the who cares fishing folks that it was getting hammered .....
empty corn cans , empty worm cartons , empty liver containers , line all over the place , a pair of rubber boots ,empty drink bottles and then .........
there it was ....A BRAND NEW landing net with the price tag still on it ...!
guess it was my lucky day .....
p.s. it was not just about the net , I also stumbled up on a herd of hammers, hammering too, so it seems not just plain lucky but actually DOUBLE lucky was me ...

It could be the cdc gear, hats and shirts.
Personally, I feel we're all pretty lucky here at cdc. Where else can one hear the adventures of KABOOM?

Ketchn, still laughing at the front end of your story. Had the same thing happen a few years ago. How steep can this bank be? Well, I found out and like you ended up very near a pile of stream rocks. I don’t know about you, the first thing I did after checking for injuries is to see if anyone saw it! I found a nice log to sit on and had a good laugh at myself. I kept that one a secret from “you know who”! Glad yours turned into a good trip!

Hate those steep banks, but they can be productive so I will take some risks. Have had a couple falls, nothing too serious. One time I slipped on some big rocks and landed on my rear end wedged between some boulders. I couldn't get out at first, I was like a turtle on my back with legs flailing. Once I let go of the rods and tackle bag I was able to get unstuck after a couple minutes. I find plenty of things on my trips, usually lures, knives, things like that.

One of my favorite white bass fishing spot in the spring is a creek with a very steep bank. This creek is known for steep banks so wearing football cleats and having rope to repel down your spot is standard issue for the regulars. I have a loop tied every 2 1/2ft in my repel rope. I would not fish that creek at all without some cleats and rope. Saw a guy drown their around 10 years go. He slid into the creek and could not swim.

My spot is 200 yards from a major mall. Back in the early days you could toss out crawfish tails and catch 2-8lb hybrids until you got tired. Another spot backup to a gun range. It was fun to catch fish while hearing birdshot break clays above your head.
