Default Another perfect day and this time it was on the water

New buddy Jeff came up from west of LSL with his ranger and we headed out. Nice young man who loves to fish for crappie and met him on a fishing dock where we both were ketchn.

intel was they were under any of the bridges in lake and to use bigger jigs and bodies as the fish were nice size and you could ketch some wipers as well. First drop I caught a 10 incher and it was on! Jeff and I floated in and out of piers and while action not as hot as he had previous Monday it still was going to be a good day.

guys in next pier on a skeeter were ketchn and we started back and forth with the old, hey dude that's my big one I just had on" and your ketchn our fish, good naturedly. We kept up the laughter and back and forth for an hour or so and as they were closing up limits and leaving one of them asked if we would like a bag o venison summer sausage. uh YES PLEASE and it was really good stuff they made themselves. lots of cheese, some jalepeno's but not too much, hickory smoked. THAT's how you do it. Best part of this area is folks are just so friendly and I'm always engaged in conversations and learning where they are from. amazing what information folks will tell you about your home area and where there are good places to go fish.

Best fish I caught and I ended with 3 12 inches and several 11+ was on Junglejimjigs white hand tie with a blade attached to the hook. I rarely use his jigs because each is a work of art and I don't want to lose them. But just going to have to go ahead and use them and then buy more from him. He sold me a box full of them and incredible variety.

we did a cruise around lake to check on water temps in different areas and just because it was a wonderful day. The White pelicans are here now and are so beautiful and IF your lucky enough to see them in formation herding a school of shad into a tight circle and then all diving in at once for a big mouthful it is glorious!

anyway when we quit and Jeff cleaned his fish he then left. My buddy John stopped by who I gave last nights bucket too and he had his granddaughter who LOVES to eat fish with him. I decided to give John one bucket full as I cleaned mine and had plenty for the freezer and my son's crew coming for weekend. When I told her I ketch fish for her not her Papa, she gave me the biggest grin and thank you. Going to have to take John and his grandkids down to lake and show them how to ketch their own in some of my spots.

this was end to just an incredible 3 days of terrific fishing, wonderful conversations, terrific meals and meeting more new folks. Funny thing is now when they ask where my place is and I tell them, they go so YOUR that guy. I tell them that I do well when I'm here but the local guys who do this almost every day simply laugh at me. they are the ones who laid knowledge on my and my cabin buddy and still fish rings around me if we are fishing same place and time. But I do well enough to keep a lot of folks who don't fish supplied with our incredible crappie fillets.

Incredible time of year and weather. If you can get out there and wet a line, fish are just waiting for you.Name: imagejpeg_1.jpg

This is wrong set of pics which were on last article. having some internet/communication issues with site with their having a hurricane go by them. There are some really good pics and most of the fish I caught under bridge were on a couple of your Handties. Primarily white jig with blade on the hook.

Nice, some great shots. Crappie in first pic are chunks, definitely sucking down some shad.
