    Unhappy 1991 2 stroke 2 cylinder Mariner

Motor starts and runs good at low speed but dies when trying to go faster than 5 mph. Any clue what to do? TIA

Possible bad switchbox. Check for good spark at both plugs.

You are checking it when you check for spark. If you are missing spark at one plug the switchbox will need to be replaced. It can't be repaired.

If it full on dies, I would think it probably means its fuel delivery issue rather than ignition.

Yes it could be a fuel problem but that motor (made by Merc) is notorious for the switchbox causing that.

Easy way to check , launch boat, try to take off then when it boggs apply the choke, if the motor picks up it's fuel related, plugged high speed jet, if it dies it's electrical, switch box
