    Default Mixed morning trip

I started out at Line Creek park pond , it was heavily stained and had a lot of pinestraw and leaves in the way of a decent retrieve.
    I caught one small bluegill
I took the hike to the creek below to check it out .The trail down to the main creek had the stream drawing from the pond running along it until about half way down and they became the same . It was a challenge for this old guy to keep my feet dry and most importantly to keep from slipping on the slimy rocks .
It’s wasn’t a rewarding hike as the main creek was still too high and stained .
Back up the hill . Total hike was almost half a mile .

Took off to lake McIntosh where I was greeted with another stained body of water .
Thirty minutes later I’d caught a tiny green sunfish for my troubles .

So it was off to the Town Pond , where I should gone first .
On the way I was held up by a railway crossing that I eventually had to go the long way around t get to the pond .

In the thirty minutes I got to fish the pond I landed four shellcracker and a couple of nice bluegills.
The last one I caught was the biggest shellcracker, but didn’t want its picture taken . As I was trying to arrange my rod in the grass , the cracker squirmed out of my hand , threw the jig and it wound up in the side of my index finger, past the barb . OUCH !
I took out my hemostats, line up the hook in the jaws and snatched it out .
Surprised, with me being on blood thinners, it didn’t bleed much at all .
It happens and I’ve learned to deal with it . That’s one reason I like small hooks .
The rod used mostly today was an older model 7’ St Croix Premier ULF , paired with a Shimano Soare bb c2000spg with a Ultegra spool and Nasci 500 handle spooled with 3# Floroclear. A very smooth , good looking reel in this configuration.
The rod is nowhere near a fast action . I_fish would love this rod . It’s about a noodle as you can get . Casting is more like a lob if I want to get any distance. You can’t over power it and get anywhere . But feels absolutely great with a fish on.

Nice looking fish. I always have a plan B in case the first lake isn't productive. Hooks just keep getting sharper and so easy now to bury a hook in flesh, my biggest fear since I'm on thinners as well. Been lucky so far.

Pretty fish. Blood thinners are for sure a two edge sword.
