Dang! sounds like I missed a good trip, and no wind! that rarely happens.

End of the work week deserved an end of the work week fishing trip. Really nice day and conditions after nearly an inch of rain on Thursday. 69 at waters edge and water temp at 69 as well. Mostly cloudy sky and zero wind for a change; surface was dead calm. We're getting some color in these parts; here's a glimpse. Lighting was not good but not too much to show just yet anyway.
I had lines in the water about 4:30 and after the first hour I had 17 fish in the boat. The nice 'gills were active once again and I had a good trip both trolling and jigging.
As I trolled over my favorite underwater hump the first crappie of the night took the Percy colored Crappie Magnet.
That lure was hot all night. The Southern Pro stinger with a white tail was hot early on but cooled off later in the trip. White was the color once again early in the trip. Ended up with 6 good crappie tonight, both jigging and trolling. That thump when jigging is the best!
In case you're wondering about the swivel tied on, I was trying to eliminate the line twist from the spinning bluegill fights. I had some real trouble with it last trip and hoped by adding the snap swivel I could fix the problem.
It is interesting to compare this trip to the last one. 36 for a total once again but the most active time was the first 90 minutes rather than the last 90 minutes. Had 17 after the first hour tonight, 28 at 6pm. Only 8 fish in the last 45 minutes. No giant schools of fish were found but smaller groups here and there that I could sit on and jig over. Last trip I kept 16, tossed back 20; last night I kept 20, tossed back 16. Wasn't counting, it just ended up that way!

Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.

Very enjoyable trip. Good job. Thanks for sharing
Great job. The bluegill always seem to keep you busy with the crappie too. Nice post.
Some very nice fiddles in that cooler. Congrats on an excellent outing. Thank you for the ride...
