Have you been into your brides nail polish again?![]()
If you were stuck on the bank trying to ketch crappie at high noon......
no time for a boat ride , no fancy electronics to hunt them down , no big name rod to sling them from far away , no minnows to dupe them with, and only 4 jigs in your pocket and 3 floats .......
well the answer is this .....
first off ....
I would try to find some bait fish in huge numbers swimming lazily along the shoreline .....
then I would try to find a bait in my pocket that looks similar to the bait fish ....
then set my float about 4 foot deep ....
and proceed to cast out PAST the bait ball ....(so I don't scatter them shad )
and then watch that float go down over and over till my lunch break is over ....
or at least that is what I might do ....
just saying
and then ....KABOOM .....is the word
p.s. yes jungle jim I did refurbish that there mini ducktail jig with some red nail polish on the thread and a gold glitter coat over the head .....your eyes ain't playing tricks on ya ....![]()

but you likely already know I could care less what them folks think I am doing with MY nail polish....

I get less and less and less looks daily ....![]()

BuckeyeCrappie thanked you for this post
Nice to see someone still showing success doing it old school. Hard to carry all those electronics and baits down the banks of creeks, rivers and small lakes. That’s how I was brought up doing it. Nice catch!

I confess I have some in the garage for bolts and such when working on engines.

I have a couple bottles too. That's how I used to paint all my jigs. I need to get some of Jim's duck feather jigs.
