What a day, what a day! Nice story and photos. Thanks for the ride along. Mini’s buddy had a day to remember!

We went west to the private crappie lake Sunday pretty early. The invitation was extended to a "never" been fishing kid my daughter hangs around with sometimes.
Well this much is fact , Kids and women have a tendency to Ketch On quicker than men when it's time to follow instructions.
They tend to follow instructions better because of what my dad used to tell me was the "ego" factor.
Their ability to just go with it ,is much higher than a man's ability in most cases and often excel at whatever the new learning experience has to offer in quick fashion.
So we hit the crappie dock and I tutored the newbie while my wife got some pictures and helped with my daughter "if" she needed help.
That there semi fall bite was in gear and the crappie were in the lets play mode. Both Kids had a Jungle Jim itty bitty hand tie on under a float about 4 foot deep on them there smoking Zebco 9.99 combo crappie killer set ups.
the action began on the first pitch and never quit, they wore them down like pros. They got bit EVERY pitch !
The newbie declared at around a dozen fish, that fishing was her new FAVORITE thing to do ....
Not sure how many came to hand , but it was a pretty ridiculous high number and only one non crappie fish got in on the action. My daughter set the hook and said "wow" dad this is a really big crappie and that's when the reel lit up like a roman candle ....I told her that is for sure not a crappie sweety and the fight raged on.
We were lucky enough to get to "see" that fish twice before it straightened out her hook and it was a STUPID big ole black bass that appeared to be close to double digits to me .
Bent the hook back in place and back at it we went.
Pretty sure the girls passed up the hundred mark quite easily before they got hungry and took a break. They for sure lost at least a another hundred as well .... lots of fish got a pass on getting held in them girl hands for sure.
Saw at least 2 really large crappie escape on the surface and released all the fish this visit.
Mind you this , the day could not have went better , we grabbed a big diesel 4 seat ranger after they had lunch and cruised the place and played with the deer, turkey and other wildlife as we traversed them foothills.
Saw a true monster buck that wasn't really terrified of us and not a soul in the ranger EVEN got one photo of him.
I think the exact words I heard from my kid were "Holy ****ake mushrooms dad LOOK at that buck! "
The weather was mild and the sun was shining and ....
I even got to rip a few while they had lunch .....
until I and or we hammer again ....
KABOOM is for sure the word ....
p.s. these results may or may not be typical and individual results may vary highly from this particular outcome and No I ain't for hire either ....![]()

Great day for everyone, even the crappie since they all got a pass. Nice when they were having so much fun to stick with it for 100+ fish.

That's good times and good memories. I'm sure your daughters friend is ready to go again. KABOOM!!!
you know brother , I can't thank you enough for those itty bitty micro jigs , they have ruined more fishes days than you can possibly imagine .
the late summer fry bite and them lethargic picky crappie fall for them like kids after candy .
There was a moment in time that day that I thought we were gunna ketch fish till I got tired and said ok that is quite enough of this ...![]()
