Default It dawned cool and calm

so it was appropriate to go squirrel hunting which is my first love of outdoors. Been having breathing issues a long with little sleep some nights so wanted easy place to go which was fairly flat and easy to get to. went to honeyhole which has plowed roads up to where I wanted to hunt and stood and watched to see if it would be worthwhile to go thru brush and fence to get to it.

Saw motion in the branches so knew at least one was down there, stalked down and saw grey up on log and fired the .410 and nailed him. then right behind it saw fox on lay down and got her too! It was on. started moving around and saw one here and there and ended up with 6 good ones including two where were small and very young and tiny but man are they delicious!

only stayed and hour and didn't have to go 50 yards to get them and feeling good. Went back to cabin to clean and get ready head for home. Dang it took a long time to clean them as I have really lost muscle mass in arms and not very strong. but I got thru it and cleaned place but had time for one last quick visit to lake to see if area had turned on like Monday. It wasn't but did ketch one and it was big fish for trip 11 incher. Packaged fish and squirrel then left house and went to neighbor as her family loves fish and they are like our family now. I opened cooler bag and I was bringing quite a bit to LSL to give to friends but she took three big bags which was fine. Good to ketch up with her on family.

    Nice backwoods and waters buffet.
Pass the "Sportsman Baton" on before you're gone, promote values for others to hunt and fish upon.
