    Default Line Creek pond +

I fished Line Creek pond this morning for a couple of hours with a couple of 4’6” Palms Quattro XUL’s paired with Shimano Soare bb500spg’s , one with 2# Flouroclear, one with braid .
Jigs were handties on size 12 streamer hooks and 3.8mm Tungsten beads . A hair under 1/64oz .
    Weather was upper 70’s , low 80’s , partly cloudy, and windy 11-20mph .
I was hoping the tree lined pond would shield me from the wind and it did a pretty good job until about 12:30 and the wind picked up .
Both combos cast about the same , the braid would blow around a little more , but I could feel bites better with the braid . One fish grabbed my jig on the fall with a big bow in my line and I could feel the take .

I also took a 5’4” St Croix Trout series ULF and tried it , both with the braid and the Floroclear with similar results. The extra 10” of rod didn’t give any advantages over the shorter Quattro.

Below the pond is a nice creek from which the park is named for Line Creek .
It’s the feeder creek to Lake McIntosh I fish a good bit .
The creek was low but I was able to find one spot deep enough to hold a fun little redbreast .
I didn’t travel far down the creek , because I’d already been standing for almost an hour and half fishing and the way out is pretty steep for an old fart . And going downstream would have added more hill and rocks to climb .
    I caught nine total .
I considered it a fun successful trip .

Very nice scenery in that one photo. You have some great places to fish for sure.

Thanks guys for all of the comments.
I totally forgot about the big one I hooked that got away . Second hill of the morning got swallowed up by a largemouth around five pounds on one of the Quattros that had 2# Floroclear on it .
I think the line was cut by its teeth. Didn’t break. Not that I could have landed it from fishing off the dock .
    Fun while it lasted .

That redbreast is beautiful! Glad you got to get out and get on some fish.

Having bass snatch your gill is a lot of fun even though landing them is slim. When reeling the gills in I'm always looking for bass that might be following looking for an easy meal.
