The one dish I throw all my passion for cooking at. It's always on my mind this time of year Redfish Courtbouillon & Redfish Remic. Both take 25+ pound Redfish to make. The big Girls move inshore now till Feb or so. I boil my Redfish bones the day before so it has a lot of time to reduce. It is a full on gel by the time it cooks & cools. My Roux & Tomato Sauce I cook in the oven till the oil separates from the edges and the roux will slide in the black iron. Best to you tomorrow, may the Surgeon's Hands be Blessed by the Gods! Really I hope everything goes smooth my friend.
If I die from a Deadly Sin it will be Gluttony!

Been thinking about you JD. Enjoy the first 2 days before the anesthesia finally wears off and the pain begins. I'm 11 days post-surgery and process of healing is slow. Take your Dr.'s advice and don't dismiss the pain meds. I'm still on schedule every 4 hours day and night taking it.
Expect to have much less energy than you ever had before. Taking a shower yesterday wore me out!
Good Luck to you and heal up quick, just be patient for results.

Prayers that your surgery goes well, like others have said stay ahead of the pain with the meds. It gets easier after the first week. Do as much therapy as you can, more therapy better results.

Thank you everyone. Rojo, I have always wanted to try Redfish. It's on my bucket list. Maybe the Lord will bless me to be around long enough to do it.
Rojo, Happycaster and Grumpa, Thank you for the sound advice, we'll wishes and prayers. PT is high on the list. Not m first surgery as I've had Dr.'s in my guts twice. Once to remove 90% of my colon due to cancer, and the second time because of problems with scar tissue and the small intestine 10 yrs later. Oh yea, then there was the removal of a cancerous tumor on my left kidney. Pain I don't like, but it's a fact of life. I will take the meds, but get off them as soon as possible. Momma is so afraid of me getting hooked. Doubt that would happen, but hate taking pills as it is.
Well hope everyone has a safe week. Tight lines and please post pics of fish caught. Till later...Eric, AKA Jamesdean.
