Here's an experiment using glitter over a UV covered black thread body.
There's many colors of glitter but red was chosen for this particular jig. Other colors would show up better.
This is not a particularly good example but shows the idea pretty well.
One picture is with a UV light to show the fluorescent areas.

I'm still experimenting with glitter but have not been happy with the results when using fingernail glitter.
It is super fine grain and has been a pain to apply to the jig. Initially I tried to dip a small paintbrush into the glitter and tapping that over the jig. Big globs.
Also tried mixing the glitter into a little bit of UV glue. That got rid of the globs but still not right.
Order some coarser glitter and gave that a try today. Better.
Drilled some tiny holes in a small plastic bottle, added glitter and dusted the jig. Better.
The picture doesn't show the glitter very well but it actually looks good in person with multi colors of shiny glitter.
I've ordered some coarse glitter and think it will do better.
Also, have been considering adding material on the head.
Should look pretty good.
I'll post a jig with the coarser material when done.

Could you use a glitter fingernail polish and just paint the thread? Tons of options there.

That's an idea that should work.
I've got some clear fingernail polish and may give that a try.

Lots of polish already has the sparkly in there. I think that would work. I have a bunch from when I painted my jig heads with fingernail polish. My girls have taken over it now....lol.
Thanks Dave, like you I started out using fingernail polish on jig heads but gave it up due to unsatisfactory results. It was okay but not nearly as good as powder paints.
I threw out a bunch of bottles a while back and don't want to get back into it but still has some clear polish that I may mix with glitter for a trial.
I tied another one this morning and it came out pretty good with the glitter.
