A fun day at the local aquarium. I mean lake. 8/29
Went to the usual lake. The plan was to just stay at the dock fishing for crappie. Found success right away, catching about a dozen in my first 30 minutes without a single bluegill playing interference. Biggest two were one about a pound and another nicer one close to 1.5lb but no monsters like earlier in the season. As soon as the wind died down, they switched off completely. Hopped from hole to hole for about 90 minutes searching for more and managed a bunch of gills and a couple bass around 14-15 inches. After those 2 hours of fun it seemed like the crappie were done for the day, so I headed out on the lake to do some bass fishing. Snapped a picture and a short video of the typical bluegill situation at the dock. All the gills there are likely 8"+. Sometimes the ones you can see can be hard to catch, sometimes it feels impossible to get past them down to the crappie. Didn't even notice that nice size bass cruising underneath the gills at the very beginning until just now.
