Thread: Smithville 8/25

Started fishing main lake trees. Fish were kind of scattered all over the place. Some where shallow and some were no deeper than 15 ft. Would catch one every other tree but could not figure out the pattern. Double rigged with 1/8 oz jig heads and black and chartreuse tube jigs. Brother used tricolored black, chartreuse, and green tubes.

Got a text from Bill and let us know where he was and he was having a pretty good time of it. Headed up main lake fished 10 ft of water and jig at the bottom like he said. I saw fish about 5 ft down and was targeting that area and didn't get a bite. Brother listens to Bill and out fished me for the remainder of the day. Thanks Bill for the tip. Brother had a blast catching more fish than me. And that's even with me having the front seat advantage.

Ended up with just enough for fish fry that evening. But far less than the limit for either of us.
