Default A couple from early this morning

I received a care package in the mail yesterday from our friend and brother, JungleJimJigs. So I pulled out a couple of jigs I had in an old soft dog food container, and put a few together.
Thank you very much Jim. Not only for the feathers, but the idea on these. I don't currently have any rabbit, but will on the 30th. I substituted some dubbing made from some yarn...hope they work. Also need some pearl crystal flash. I used red on one, Chartreuse on one and rainbow flash on the smallest one.Name: 20240825_103744.jpg

Those will catch some for sure. Hackle, marabou and about anything can be used for the throat area, doesn't have to be rabbit. It's been my preference the last couple years but I've tried just about everything and it all works. Smaller size threads work better and thread head doesn't build up so fast. My favorite thread for duck jigs is 8/0 UNI-Thread in Fl.Orange. It looks red but under uv light it actually glows. #2 thread color is black for me. Plus these spools are 200 yards. Tie lots of jigs with one spool.

Well I got the thread size right, It's 8/0 but in red. What I had on hand, and handy... Thread order going in soon. I found Amazon had 4 ea. craft grade 12"x10" (approx.) white rabbit pelts on sale in a bundle. They were less than 1/2 what I could get them for in a craft shop. Being white, I can cut them in half and then I can dye them whatever colors I think I'll need.
