Default 8/19/2024 Solo On The Funky T River .... Hot Hot Hot

Going with Cajun Ray in the morning on the Funky T and so I wanted to go SOLO there since I haven't done it Solo there for a long time. Launched south and headed north. Fished hard and had little success.... UNTIL Kaboom. Found them and it was on. Caught all of the 18 that I kept at my last spot ( I also had 6 South but I gave them to a nice couple fishing from the bank who were camping and trying to put together dinner), before I headed further north. The HEAT kicked in and I put it on the trailer but I knew if I found them it would be on. The lesson learned today is that the last spot, the last pitch sometimes pays off big time. It would have been easy to call it a day and pack up my pride and head to the launch.. Instead I kept persevering and WOW did that last spot pay off. I ended up with 5 that were 12 inches or bigger and another 10 that I was proud to throw in the TEAM Ice Chest. All fish caught in 15 feet of water at 10 to 7 feet deep on a 1/32 oz jig with the rainbow array of plastics. Water temp was 88 F and the tide was moving up and down like a washing machine today.

There is a SUPER BLUE MOON tonight, the next one is in 2037, so we will see if the full moon effects the elusive sacalait bite in the morning.

    BON TEMPS !!

Fishing in your local spots is rewarding especially the short truck & boat rides. I'm glad to see you are still catching, big improvement from a year ago.
