    Default Mississinewa trolling

Met my father at Missy last Saturday. We trolled crankbaits from sunrise to about 10:30. 3 fish, none crappie. I was surprised we didn't catch any crappie at all. Maybe they were tight to structure. Hardly anyone was out. Maybe that means the fishing hasn't been good.

I haven't been to Missy this year yet. Sorry I can't help you on what is going on. I usually like to troll there as well, so I'm interested to see what responses you get.

I trolled Missy pretty much every weekend since May. We had success every trip but usually only 7-10 crappie. We picked up a 20 in + cat almost every trip. I just bought an old pontoon and new terrova this year. Never fished Missy until this year. I still have not set up rod holders and no electronics. Bandit 300's were most successful. Flickers picked up a lot of drum early on when we fished E of 13 bridge. We spent most of our time trolling across from Red Bridge to the dam.

I am waiting to see what HB comes out with and researching how to set up. The terrova has MDI but I'm thinking I need MSI or jump into Live/360 so it looks like I have to buy 2 units. I mostly sit at the console with remote and use cruise control with autopilot. There is not a lot of info out there for setting up a trolling pontoon. I am debating switching from spinning reels to line counters which will determine rod holders. I am looking into planer boards also.

It's definitely a learning experience but much easier fishing for these old bones. My gf caught here first cat and crappie this year and is addicted. She hasn't missed a trip.
