    Default Lake Havusa

Hello all. Has anyone fished Lake Havusa? I’ve seen videos of the readear but I was wondering what else it has? Crappie? Bluegill or Catfish? I live in Indiana so was also wondering if it was worth the drive? I’d love to get into a 2 or 3lb readear.

Personally, it’s one of my bucket list destinations. I’d find something to do, I’m sure.

Havasu has a lot of different kinds of fish besides Redear. Stripers, catfish, bass, bluegill and some big crappie. Crappie numbers are low but Striper fishing is really popular. Fished it in 2015 for a couple days and Red ear and smallmouth bass was fantastic. I hope to get back there one day.

It’s a seasonal bite for the red ear.
most the guides are booked a year in advance, if you have the time you’ll find some fish.
night crawlers are your friend, try 15-20 ft of water.
