Default Thinking about the MS members gone on, especially G

Vicki and I have been at Enid and Grenada this week. Fishing has been tough for us pulling cranks. We got a break from the wind today and pulled out the Off Shore planer boards and Pico cranks. After experimenting with some different colors, it ended up being Geezer Clown and Zombie that caught the best fish. I remembered how much David (G) loved those baits and what a huge supporter he was when Mitch was getting Pico Lures up and going. This got me to thinking about the MS guys who made their events at Enid so special and have passed. I miss David, Don (Nightshadow) and Calvin(Army Man). If I missed some, please post them below. I have been a member here since 2011 and not met many other members. It is wonderful to see your post bringing the memory of the members of CDC back for the next generation to be introduced to. I hope members with pictures of these guys will post them up so we can put a face with a name. Kind Regards..........Rojo (MS Gulf Coast member)

I looked for old pics where G came to my old lake house. Couldn’t find any changed phones several times since then. Lol

I remember "G" as my friend - David Shands. David and I kept in constant contact - sharing plant seeds, Christmas gifts, etc. He was in my boat several times over the years. He joined me in the boat with others here - Gary (Hookone), Charlie Weaver, etc. RIP Gary.

I have many others. I sure do think of David.

While I’ve met some of the members, I’m still kinda tweaked at one of my past bosses. I was all set to come to one of the MS fall camps one year and had the time off planned and approved and all that. Then she sent me to Chicago and I had no hours to get back home and make the trip. It was either go to Chicago or lose my job. I left a few months later. I was so looking forward to meeting some of my heroes. Cane pole was there that year along with G and Charlie Weaver who I later met. I’m still disappointed at missing that and it was over ten years back. Y’all are my second family and I think of you all as friends, held in high regard. Thanks for bringing this up Doug. I ain’t getting any younger and I need to travel to some of these gatherings. We’ve had some good ones here but they leave me wanting to meet others that I’ve spoken with for many years. Speaking of this, I need to get after getting our fall gathering together. Always a good time that leaves everyone with a smile and good memories.
