    Default Ouick Flyrod Trip

Dropped my wife off at the hairdresser, and drove to lake McIntosh.
It was around 1:30 , sunny, and hot , with a stiff breeze.
The breeze made the sunshine more tolerable, but made casting tough .
The water level had dropped again to where there was only about ten feet f water between the dock and the bank . I only needed short casts , but the wind blew my line all over the place . No accuracy at all.
I took my 6’ 2wt Reddington Butterstick paired up with a Reddington Zero reel .
    A super lightweight combo.
Started off with a tiny size 14 rubber legged spider , but the bite was slow , so I switched to gnat pattern and caught a couple out from under the dock .
I walked over to the riprap and found a spot where a few rocks were still covered with water.
Finally , almost time to pick up my wife and I found a school where I caught one almost every cast .
Ended up with fifteen total with a nice little cracker to top off the micros .
Also caught a small spotted sunfish . Always nice to catch a rare one .
Fun outing . Glad it only lasted about forty minutes. I was sweating bullets when I left .
