Good job. Nice catches. Beautiful rods.
I decided to only take a few Tenkara rods today.
I took five but only had time to fish four of the them .
Three of them were eight footers with different flies. The other was a double zoom rod that can be fished at 9.8’ or extended to 11’3” . I think that’s the lengths , I’ll look up the specs and post if different. It’s a Dragontail rod .
I started off with a 8’ blue Goture and caught five , then switched to a black Goture , then a second black Goture , before finishing up with the Dragontail.
Ended up catching 17 total . Some were in the 6-7” range and put a nice bend in the rods .
The good thing about Tenkara is they’re so compact, it’s easy to take several.
A fun couple hours even with the windy conditions.

One day I'm going to try one of these. I often find tree tops or stumps that you can just keep dropping a jig at and bring one in. I usually use a 10 or 11 foot jig pole and leave the line set at a depth. It would be really fun with a Tenkara rod.

That was a fun time. I learned a while back that I’m not smart enough to use a cane pole or its cousins. I’ll just enjoy this through your adventures.

The Dragontail rod is a Kaida zx320 ; lengths are 9.39’ and 10.64’ .

A little information about Tenkara rods .
Just because they may look like a jigging pole , they’re not .
They are closer to a flyrod without a reel . I high makes them super lightweight.
I’m far from an expert , but I’ve found I like the 7-8’ lengths the best . The longer rods I’ve owned have felt a little tip heavy and actually heavier overall.
The 7-8 footers feel like a wand in my hand .
And yes , sometimes I have found myself wishing for a little more distance like I can get with one of my flyrods .
But the flyrods with reels attached aren’t as compact and easy to store ready to fish .
I enjoy fishing with both as well as my UL spinning gear .

Gillchaser, i believe you and I share very similar interests when it comes to chasing tiny fishes with the extremest in "UL" gear!...lol. BTW you have a very nice collection of Tenkara style rods! I have to own just one:
From Amazon
...and I'm having fun catching micro-size bluegill and carps!
