    Default Unexpected

I slept in til 7 this morning and felt better for it. Had coffee and a biscuit and got a text from Nino wondering of my plans for the day. Told him I was chasing bluegill and leaving early so I wasn’t going far. It was after 8 by the time the boat was wet and Nino dropped in right behind me. He went one way and I went the other and we both had good days. The meat fishers have been hitting us hard lately so I had in mind that if I caught 15 fish today I would consider it a success. I had that in less than an hour and this guy was at the front of the parade.

His bigger brother came on the next cast. Thought he was massive. I was throwing a green version of my little brown bug and they liked it fine til a deep snag wouldn’t give it back. I switched to a brown one on another rod and kept right on catching. When I finished that bank I went to check on the crappie only to find no one home. They must’ve been hit hard this week for even the little ones to be gone.
I continued down another bank, spotlocking now and then and one by one found lots of fish. No bass, crappie, catfish or bowfin showed today, but lots of nice CNBG came for a short visit and a picture. I quit taking pictures for no real reason but I still have a bunch to share. I’m sure the day brought me about 40 fish with about 6 more lost on the way in. I used my 5’6” and 6’ Trout X rods with Presso’s on both and my 6’6” Fenwick HMX build with a 2000 Soare XR for throwing the beetle spin that I finished the day with. I like the Presso better. Anyway, here’s the pics and thanks for the read. Til next time…..Skeet

Fun outing . Beautiful fish , CNBG ‘s and especially that spotted Sunfish that started your morning.
Glad you were able to get out and the fish cooperated.

You’re right Jim. If it weren’t for the heat I don’t know how long I’d have stayed. They really hit the beetle spin hard.
