Well fabricating is a passion that the more of a push to perfection the better overall the final product gets. Bon Temps needed some help to mount a 106sv Garmin Plotter between his steering wheel and the dash. First look seemed kinda impossible to do but after letting the imagination do it's magic I came up with a replacement dash. The original is a piece of CnC 1/4in Starboard, nowhere near strong enough to hold a 106sv for the duration. Replacing with 1/8in 5052 Aluminum sheet is the ticket.

Tach, Trim, & Fuel gauges needed relocation, due to the weight of a 106sv I didn't trust just braking a shelf out of a piece of .125 5052 Aluminum. I don't think it would hold up over time. Especially since the Aluminum sheet would have a bend in it already. I decided to use some 6063 2x2 1/8in Structural Angle, welding a extension of 1/8in 5052 outward to the width of the 106sv Gimbal Mount Base width. After roughing this out I ran over to Bon Temp's home to install this dash and mount the 106sv before welding out. Due to how Aluminum will draw when TIG welded and this will be painted black I decided to put short TIG welds to attach the Angle Shelf for the 106sv. The Plotter will block the view of most of the welding anyway. I still have to cut the holes for the cabling, mainly the fiber optic cables because each will need it's own hole to pass thru because the Quick Release Mount is almost touching the new Dash panel before painting.

Default P-Nut is getting a Horsepower Upgrade

CDC Member P-Nut is looking to upgrade his cruising speeds between fishing spots and I had this engine in my stash so we are going to do a engine swap on his boat.

I took this engine off my Skeeter F-80 Strada. It ran well when I removed it but P-Nut is a friend so I'm giving it a once over before we do the engine swap. Removing the old silicone, cleaning out a few dauber nests, washing out the Lower Cowl, just a once over. I will connect a 703 Side Control to it, hook up a battery, and put the hose on it, then start it up. A quick video taken for YouTube will let everyone see it purr. We will be adding a 4in Bobs Jackplate at the same time and I think P-Nut plans on changing the Lower Unit oil before it leaves my shop.

No that one is a 70hp. P-Nuts boat won't handle a 90. I put the 90 I rebuilt a while back on the Skeeter when I started the Skeeter thread. My plans is to use the Skeeter to break in a few engines I have going. I just picked up a Yamaha 150 V-Max (carbs) 3 days ago. I rebuilt this engine for a customer 10 years ago but now it has a knock so they gave it to me. When I had the machine work done on the first rebuild .010 was all that had to be cut to clean it up. Several more rebuilds hopefully.

Default P-Nut's Engine Purring on the Stand

In between thunderheads I managed to start up P-Nut's Yamaha 70TLR engine for a short video. We will make plans to swap soon and I post the job here when complete.
