Default 7/1/2024 Crabbing on Da Bayou Lacombe

Been craving some blue crabs so my grandson and I launched at 7:30 in his 14 foot Campagna skiff equipped with 18 nets baited with Sacalait heads.
Put it on the trailer at 11 due to 115 F heat index. Ended up with a few dozen keepers, enough to boil.

Austin did all the work and even boiled the crabs. 🦀

Another Paw Paw Adventure in the books!!

    BON TEMPS!!

The Man knows how to boil seafood too. I had his boiled Crawfish, they were fantastic.

Wow, great eats there but those temps are crazy hot. Don't think I would have been out that long with those temps but it was worth it. Thanks for the ride along and pics.

For those who did not catch the reference, he used crappie heads for bait. Sacalait is what they are called down in Louisiana. So that made this an important post for crappie fisherman. Another way to use the whole crappie. Will work in crawfish traps as well.
