Default Hot Day on Bald Knob

Wife and I hit up Bald Knob Lake for a couple of hours fishing. Really should not have gone at all with the heat. Caught a number of bluegill and one good shell cracker. Used the Diplomat Extreme 62 UL and caught a few fish on the 67 Slow Taper Special. Lure as usual was a Trout Magnet. Line used was the Varivas ES2 Lemoni Ester. Had a lot of fun but learned a valuable lesson. I’m too old anymore for the kind of heat we’ve been having. If I hit up Bald Knob again this summer I will make sure to be on the water by 6:30 and off by 11.

Its fun catching but that heat sure makes you wonder if it's all worth it sometimes. Congrats to you and the Mrs.

Good job and pics. If you’ve had the heat and humidity like we’ve had it’s brutal.

Glad you got out and the timing is what I try to practice every trip, though if the fishing is so good I sometimes run a little long if I’m in the shade. Those are some good fish and worth the trouble of going in the heat.

    Nice catches !
The heat has been tough , coupled with the humidity.
That’s why I make short trips and fish from the bank .
I caught a little break this morning, had a nice breeze and the clouds blocked the sun most of the two hours I spent out there .
Some places I can find some shade and it does make a difference
    Can’t do that from a boat .

Thanks……Yeah it’s brutal out here. Had one beautiful day with temps in low 80’s but I decided to mow my yard that day. Tomorrow supposed to be a beautiful day and then heat returns Tuesday. Hoping to get after trout tomorrow.

Thanks….envious of your bank spots. They just don’t exist around here. People told me that about 3 years back. Turns out they were right.Hot Day on Bald Knob

Nice, Alphahawk, and that is a pretty spot. Yes, this heat has been killer. We are in our second day of relief, but heat is back on tomorrow.
