    Default New water, quality fish

Over the winter while wish for safe ice or open water I made a list of the lakes in my surrounding countries that listed Master Angler crappie with the idea of fishing as many as possible. There was a failed attempt at one a couple of weeks ago but this evening I made it to one located in northern Kent County.

I tried to follow the weed line/drop-off but the weed edge was very erratic paired with a steep drop. To add to the difficulty the drop was far off shore and seldom relatable with on-shore geography.

I put one nice one in the cooler not far from the launch but only added one other keeper while lapping the lake. Back in front of the launch I started getting fish again. Unfortunately I'd used up nearly all of the daylight so made short runs back & forth while watching the ineptitude of folks loading boats. Put a good meals worth in the cooler with only a couple of throwbacks. Good thick fish.

Taking a break until after the 4th weekend when I get back from visiting my daughters and grandkids in Florida.

    Stay safe & good fishing.

Ain't it funny where you find em sometimes? Might be different if you find a day without so much traffic. Have fun seeing the family and safe travels.
