    Default Making panfish plastics

Does anyone on here make their own plastics like Bobby garlands or 2” fluke style lures to sell. I recently started to make some me and the boy he wanted to try making some so we did. I ordered a few molds and lots of colors some scents and lots of plastisol. We been making quite a few so many I’ve been thinking about trying to sell some just to recover some of the costs. I don’t have any idea how to figure and prices online and at the store are all over the place. I know figure in the cost of everything which seems tough when a gallon will makes god only knows how many lures (a lot). My time is time with the boy. Guess just trying to see what others are doing.

A gallon of plastisol will make nearly 4000 two inch crappie baits.

Dang, someone is busy! Nice designs BTW. Reminds me of my wall of lures which won't get wet in my life time.

I enjoy making them for fun, I’ll post them on eBay occasionally. I kind of just list them at a price point where it’s worth it to go to post office for. But I’m also not trying to make a living doing this, there’s just way too many people/companies that list them for so cheap.

That is what I have found I was hesitant in doing this because of that, but the boy wanted to and I was interested but in the back of my mind fought that. We can buy them so cheap compared to the cost of making them. I’m glad we did it still we have a blast making different colors also are donating some for the local 4H fundraiser and planning on donating some to the school for the kids shopping days the school does around Christmas time

I have enough stuff to make the jigs, powder them and tie them!! but making plastics is one thing I haven't pulled the plug on!! There's enough guys who make them to get them from!!
