I wished I’d never tried braid .
Now , I can’t decide between Daiwa J-braid X8 and 2# P-line Floroclear .
Especially on my fiberglass rods .
With braid , the sensitivity is so much better than with the Floroclear. With graphite , the braid is still better in that aspect, but the difference isn’t as far apart.
I swapped out the spool on my Shimano Soare bb500spg with one with braid today paired with my new Graywolf 4’11” Glass UL .
Using a .3g jig , I couldn’t tell much difference in distance, but I could feel every tap and a four inch bluegill felt like a 6-7” bluegill.
Big difference in feel . And in the fun factor.
Caught nine in just over an hour . Lost my jig and decided it was too hot and left .

That just means you need extra spools for when the mood strikes ya. No question in my mind, mostly braid with a leader and I’ll take the down sides with a smile. When the wind blows it I tense up the line a little and put the tip real close to the water and get it to stick there.

You are 100% correct!
I plan on using the shallow spools for braid and the deeper Nasci 500 spools for the 2# Floroclear.
Lately some of the areas I’ve been fishing, the braid with heavier 3 and 4# leaders come in handy around some of the trash I’ve been fishing around.
And I just love the way a fish feels with the braid . I swear I can feel every tail swish .

Certainly hard to beat the sensitivity

With braid, I rarely lose lures - even jigs stuck on wood or pad stems. Sometimes the hook straightens and I get the jig back. Pliars come in handy to recurve the hook. Won't get those lures back using mono or f/c.
One thing about hook sets and losing fish using braid. No stretch means the fish have leverage when using light jigs on a med. action rod. I've lost more fish than I care to remember - especially those close to the boat. Light action rods have far less leverage.
