    I've seen them flying over in an eagle's grasp a couple times at Toledo Bend. Close enough to id them. But that said, I like the trolling motor answer.

    I'm in with the prop theory.

    An eagle or osprey talon punctures and if it was that deep on one side, there'd most likely be a matching single puncture wound on the other side too.
