How much wind will cancel your trip?
Mine is greater than 15 mph. I'm too old for that kind of boat ride.

Almost every day of spring is a 15-20+ wind here, just have to plan it so I am on calmer waters.

Depends on the direction. I'm usually fishing in bays so depending on the direction I may be fine. 15-20 mph is about my limit because it's hard to cast in, my trolling motor has anchor mode so once I'm on my spot I don't worry much about the boat. Having said that I fish out of an 18' aluminum boat that is possessed at times and will sit sideways in the wind just because it can, it's almost like my wife put a spell on it. I may need to look into that. LOL
Depends on the lake. Here in the city 15mph on certain lakes is brutal as you can’t get out of it. Could travel out east and get on some lakes that 15mph isn’t bad as you can get out of it.

It depends on the wind direction on and where I fish on The Rez—S is best, N is the worst during the spawn and would like the wind 5mph or less with gusts less than 12 mph. Now that it is summer and am pulling crankbaits, I can take up to 8-10 mph with gusts up to 15 or so.
If I'm not at work or taking kids to their activities, you might find me on "The Rez" fishing. If not there, I could be in the garage working on my boat.
Fishing out of a 16’ flat bottom Jon by the time the wind gets to 15 I’m already most of the way to the ramp. I fish for pleasure and when it’s not fun anymore, it’s time to go.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
Seems no matter the actual direction of the wind on The Rez, it ends up blowing Up the Lake or Down, where I fish most of the time (43 Bridge North to Pearl River) wind is always blowing up under the bridge rolling the waves thru.
To answer the question as long as I can walk my Bass Boat up to the mouth of the Pearl River I fish. Here on the Coast we can get out of the wind anytime in Honey Island Swamp.

My boat is a 14ft skiff so anything over 12 mph gets me off the main lake.

The longer I haven’t been out fishing…The more wind I’ll tolerate to go fishing. We pick smaller lakes with lots of trees around or the calm side of bigger lakes when its gusting in the 30s.
