Default 6/14/2024 DA Bayou Lacombe Water Temp is 92 F

We returned for a week of camping in MS yesterday evening and decided to try and catch some of the elusive sacalait on Bayou Lacombe. Didn't launch till 9 am and the water temp was 87 F. Side scanned and found a few. Ended up with 10 in the box. All over 9 inches and 2 tacos that had swallowed the jig so far they were not going to live long. All blacks except one spot where we caught taco size whites one after another. 1/32 oz jig with various BG baby shad plastic.

Austin my grandson did catch the biggest today but I had a hog tear its lip next to the boat as we fumbled around with the net. Fished till the water temp reached 92 F at noon.

Another Paw Paw adventure in the books..

Happy Fathers Day to all on the Forum.

    Bon Temps!!

Very nice fellas! Too hot for me now and it’s only in the mid-80s. Thanks for sharing

I was over at Bon Temp's yesterday. He needs to tune his electronics a bit so we were going over issues I saw. Once his electronics are tuned up so he can get good returns on the screens he will be dangerous to the Crappie populations.

So nice to see a grandson hanging out with his grandfather, especially at that age. Reminds me of my own grandfather and grandmother and my days out fishing with them. I'd give everything I have just to have em back for a day. It's been 40 and 38 yrs since they left and it hasn't gotten any easier.
