I have a couple things on the way from Mudhole. A set of SSR Guides, and a Guide/ Tip Sizer Gizmo. Momma done approved me getting the Complete starter set/ class while I'm down with my knee. So with the first 100% disability check from the VA, that and Two complete builds will happen. Looking real hard at the phinix 5'6", and 6'6" ultra-lights using SSR
guides and a 6" cork Tennessee Grip. May make it a bit different and make it split Tennessee type Handle. Light weight and sorta shorter for pond hopping with the new to me inflatable pontoon.
If I don't Like the look of the Tennessee handle, I will have Skeet's set-up on hand, only probably have a 3" cork in front of the reel seat.

Thank you Jack. I'll get some pic's up of the builds as they progress for sure. First bits will be here tomorrow, providing informed delivery is right. Then I'll get bits and pieces here and there till I get the surgery done...

I have been kicking around the idea of building a few after I get this boat rigged out like I want it

Have fun with em Eric, and I hope the knee heals real quick. They’s fish out there! I’m looking forward to seeing the results.

Right now my two closest fishing lakes are closed due to high water and debris. Both owned by the city, though both are in more rural areas. water over the road...On the knee, I resubmitted the request for the consult to see the specialist. once that's approved, I can go take the UA to prove I've been off Smokes for at least 30 days and am nicotine free (doc. wont do the surgery if there's any in your system). It wasn't easy, but no smokes in three month and no patches for a month. So good to go there. Once surgery's done, paperwork sent to VA, and my disability upgraded two things gonna happen, 1) rod building kit ordered, 2) transmission in ole reliable fied. It's been a great truck. 1995 f150, 5.0, overdrive tranny. this last winter after our extended hard freeze it wont shift from 2nd to third, and consequently no overdrive either. So it's sat. By the time my rods are done, so will the truck be, and hopefully, the good lord willing, I'll be back on the water. Thank you for the well wishes. Eric

Phenix mirage is a good UL blank if you like moderate action. I would recommend that you use the lightest guides possible else the recovery while casting will be very poor. SSR are light guides. I would also recommend CRB Nano Mico (size 3) and Pac Bay Minima size 3 or 4. Titanium guide are also great by can get very pricy.
