    Default Tm wire

I am going to set up an extra tm battery. What is the smallest wire for a 10 ft run that I can use reliably?

I would run 10 AWG since you are running 240 inches +/- combined length. IMHO

It depends on the size TM you plan on using. But based on the range of TM's you might be as small as 10ga, but more likely 8 or 6 is recommended.

I bought 30 feet of #6 marine wire. It is a 2 wire cable. I got it off of Amazon for a little over $100. It is tinned wire. Looks to be of good quality

25$ for a set of good jumper cables

Not a good idea. Almost all of the jumper cables (all in the $25 range) I've seen are not copper stranded wire but are CCA (Copper Clad Aluminum) which has much higher resistance.

What trolling motor are you running? We need to know the current rating to be able to answer the question.

You can also look at this chart from Blue Sea as a guide as well. Part 1: Choosing the Correct Wire Size for a DC Circuit - Blue Sea Systems

If I'm not at work or taking kids to their activities, you might find me on "The Rez" fishing. If not there, I could be in the garage working on my boat.
