    Default Southern California Crappie Fishing

I apologize in advance if there is already a thread for Southern California.

I fish Irvine, Laguna, Skinner, Hodges, and Hemet a lot. If you fish Irvine or Laguna you know me as Michael.

I am looking for tips on setup and best bait to use in these lakes.

    Tight Lines, Michael

    Hi group,
Went to Irvine with 3 fishing buddies. Crappie was very slow this past weekend. Headed to Hemet next week after derby. I caught a 5.1 lb there a few weeks ago. For a fresh water fish in So California thats a good sized trout.

No I haven't. I will be back at Irvine tomorrow. Crappies in the shallows with my new slabsauce. I will let you know if it helps.

5.1 lb Crappie? you are talking about a crappie? That’s what, just few ounces off world record. Did you send picture of the monster slab? I don’t think I’m getting the image *♂️
