At the dam on Pickwick lake in Savannah Tn. there is nothing to stop you from going through the spillway ,boat and all. While living there I heard the tale of a fellow, his wife and a friend who lost power, going through. Only she survived. Always used to go upstream at least 3 or 4 miles to fish from the dam. The current would pull you to the dam without power.

You had to launch your boat before you actually hit the Boat Ramp.
When I got out the Truck I contemplated it for about 10 minutes & decided because I knew the angle of the ramp I'd just get wet & do it after the 2 hour drive. The water walking to the back of the truck was up to my calf & OVER MY BOOTS WHERE IT RUSHED IN.
The 5th time I went way deeper for it to just float off the trailer completely but it was something I've never experienced before and EERIE.
Something was telling me "Turn around & GO BACK TO THE RAMP, or don't & you will get what you get".
I turned on my 2D, Down Imaging, & Side Imaging and ZERO. Nothing... NO READING/PINGING.
The Maps were working fine. Zero Sonar. So I said Gosh Darnit.
Here Goes another $500 bucks, so I headed in.
I loaded the boat, got wet again for the 6th time, & pulled the boat and trailer out to secure it. THE TRANSDUCER WASN'T EVEN SCRATCHED.
So I listened. Left the boat ramp, & proceeded to take the boat to the boat repair place I was having some upgrades done with & I told him to also look at my Sonar. He fired it up & it came on like a Charm. Everything working FINE!
LISTEN!!!!!!
